Wow Elena, tremendous work on this piece! The use of lines and flow is fantastic, the emotion comes across 10-fold. It’s a vision of a nighttime wanderer meandering through the woods, whose only connection to life is with the comfort of bird friends – what are they seeking together?
Hi Elena, a huge thanks for your “following” and your “like”. It is so meaningful to me as I love your use of watercolors and the softness of your photo work. Have an artful day, Marian.
I didn’t care for this one at first. The color scheme is a little less dynamic than I’ve come to expect from you, and the main figure’s posture seems… off (to me). But with a little further study, there’s a great deal of very satisfying motion in the sweep of the dress, the sky, and the birds. There’s also some very interesting relationships between the subjects. AND the rendering of the hand on the right and the bird on the left are exquisite. I’ve come around!
I figured. It stands as a testament to your talents that your sketches come so close to being ‘correct’ without even trying. Just let me know if my comments step out-of-line. (it probably says more about me, and my inability to just let go and paint freely. hmmm…)
Elena…I should ask you something…maybe this wouldn’t be the right place to ask….
Would there be any way I could use one of your fairies as a tattoo? I’ve been looking for a perfect fairy (having one on my back already), I need more. Your fairies speak to me. The colors, the stokes, the breathiness of them. I love them.

My that hand is ‘large’. It’s a reality shaper for sure
Just love the painting. Was it really digitally done?
Thank you:) No, 99% watercolor and a little digital extra.
Beautiful work Elena.
Thanks Kellie
Wow, this is absolutely stunning!!
Thank you!
I like the birds. And do I see a leaf floating on the left side of the painting?
Could be a leaf. Could be a feather….;)
Sweepingly gorgeous!
Thanks much!
Your watercolors are incredible…so evocative and expressive. Love your work!
Thanks so much Marcie!
Very beautiful picture, dear Elena! I called it “bird protector!”
I love the colors!

Big hugs with much love, Stefania!
Thanks Stefania. I like “bird protector” a lot!

Funny you should say that, I’ve been tuned in to that sound lately-pretty loud! Thanks Christina.

Its the bird lady of Fantasia!
Could be;)

I see a delightful young maiden whose progress is being impeded by birds of ill omen.
A distinct possibility;)
Just awesome! This is stunning to me.
Thanks much Allyson Marie!
amazing colors! & I love the way the bird on the left looks as if it just attached from her spine
I’m sorry, not attached. I meant just materialized from her spine
Either way works for me Stacy Michelle:) Thank you!
The fairy and the birds are stunning. Have you been inspired by your lovely little Red Cardinals?
Yes! Def. inspired by all the colorful birds at my feeder. Thank you!
Very dynamic like dance.
Thank you!
i love the face, and the whole pose…just about to turn around as if we’ve interrupted something. and the bird looking so pleased with itself. dreamy.
Thank you Janna.
Wonderful movement. I sense being on the brink of action, flight perhaps. A moment of anticipation.
Thanks Karen.
Awesome Elena!

Love the trajectory of your storyline Mary! Thank you much!
Beautiful work as usual…It’s got a magical/fantasy feel to me…
Thanks so very much:)
The realm of the phantasmagorical, where the red-blue chiffon of time beckons the uninitiated into a sort of cosmic daydream…
I think we might be tapping into that daydream regularly:)

It is kinda spooky…but not in a bad way..I think…
I still think it’s an awesome work though
Thanks Shree.
Love the action in this one, Elena! It’s really quite violent. And I love the expressions on the character and birds’ faces. Great!
Thanks Richard.
Great use of color.
Thanks Hansi.

Thanks Gabriel:) I’m not concerned with “correct” in these watercolor sketches. They serve other purposes.

Not to worry! Just give it a go. You don’t have to show anyone;) A pretty big percentage of these w/c’s wind up as collage foder;)
