He’s so gorgeous! And you always manage to capture something “other” than the actual subject – I’m not sure what exactly it is, but there’s always something very unique to you about the colour and shapes you find..
Very beautiful is the turtle. I like orange spots on the shell, if it were painted!
Thank you for sharing!
You have a wonderful weekend, dear Elena!
Big hugs, much love, Stefania! 🙂
What a great photograph Elena. We have a pond behind us and one across the street, and these guys used our yard as their pathway! And every year yard a baby turtle ends up in the pool, and every once in a while a very large adult turtle will be taking a swim too, and in both cases very funny watching us try to get them out. Wonderful colors on the turtle you have here!
Oh, you found one! : ) It’s a bit too cold here – freezing rain, snow and ice pellets.
That little foot is so sweet. Did you have a polarizing filter on your lens whe you made this picture? It’s great!
Yes, I did use a polarizing filter. But, it popped off the lens into the swamp just after shooting this picture. Time for a new filter and more attention to fitting it better:) The swamp is just FULL of turtles sunning. I spied only one little frog. We had a very warm snap and now a cooler one, but nothing like snow and ice. I do adore turtles. Hope you’ll see some soon!
Wow… excellent click 🙂
Very peaceful and “floaty”, great shot!
yes, dreamy floaty;) Thanks Christina
A charming turtle in his own special element. Oh, how I envy the pace of his life right now. 🙂
I agree, the swamp is looking pretty good:)

Much appreciated Cath!! I’m actually drawn to your work for similar reasons. There’s always MORE even while elegant and essential.
What a beauty. Hw far is this swamp from your house? Lots of beauty there.
One entrance is only about a couple of miles away. It’s literally called The Great Swamp. Thanks Jill!

Thanks Mary! Swimming with the turtles, sounds like fun:)
I went..”Ooo”…such a cute little fella!! 🙂
They are pretty cute. Thanks Shree!
A painted turtle by an artist…very fitting! I love seeing these guys bask when they come up from the mud. Haven’t seen one yet this year.
Aren’t they fascinating? The’ll be coming soon! Thanks Scilla.
He’s a colourful little fellow. Love that you captured his reach.
Thanks Richard
Striking presence, Casual but undeterred they float like dudes on Harley. Too much, right? I know…
They are pretty cool:)
A stranger to me, but what a wonderful pattern! I like the colour harmony within the picture – those touches of orange that give a little lift.
A painted turtle. I like the orange too. Thanks Louis.
Oh, how cute 🙂

Elena, I simply LOVE turtles. Maybe, just maybe, you might find a turtle inspiring enough to do a watercolor of one. 😉
Maybe…;)
Cool shot 🙂
Thanks Allyson Marie:)
