I’m growing quite fond of these two. They happened upon the paper very quickly and easily. The ease of their creation is in great contrast with the energy of the little girl in the foreground. I seem to recall sometimes feeling like each of these girls, while in the company of childhood friends. Either gratefully lost in my own world or feeling excluded from my friend’s faraway thoughts, on those long, hot days of summer.
There is something magical in this image and in your words as well! Brava!
robert
Thanks very much!
Love the way you described them. So true about their appearance and the ways of us in our childhood.
The moods are priceless!
‘They happened upon the paper’:) You make is sound so simple, Elena. Amazing!
Thank you Uday:)
I can believe they appeared straight on the paper … they posses that freshness 🙂
Thanks Geoff!
The last summer of our childhood, as seen through the eyes of a girl who doesn’t want to grow up.
In some ways, quite true:)
You manage so much emotion with minimal brush strokes. Masterful, Elena!
Thanks very much Karen:)
Very nice painting, dear Elena. Very nice of illustrated childhood stage.
The boy remained upset because the girl went home?
I hope you have a wonderful day! Big hugs, much love, Stefania! 🙂
Thank you Stefania:)
Oh my I’m loving this painting! Fantastic body forms and position, and those dresses are so cute. I like how you blurred the piece and yet kept the girl on the right face more sharp – very nice.
Thanks very much Mary.
Nice….I like the blurry, yet detailed look.
Thanks Hansi
says a lot 🙂
😉
I can see why you love them! The one in back, especially!
Thanks Cindy!
Beautiful!
Thank you Nuno!
So beautiful, Elena …along with your thoughts too!
Happy Wednesday, my dear.
🙂
Thank you Marina:) You too!
That a complete narrative can be conveyed with so few brush strokes continues to amaze me!
Thank you so very much Louis.
Very wonderful interpretation Shree! Thanks:)
Fantastic !
Thank you!
Wow, brilliant
Much appreciated Mike!
This must be a drawing equivalent of short story of
which fragile yet deep wondering of thoughts were described.
I hope it is. Thanks much Yoshi.
So amazing! :O
Thank you!
You so nailed it with your thoughts as my mind went there too before I read your comments and while just sitting with your creation. You are amazing.
LIke minds we are, I think. Thanks so much Robin:)
How fascinating to read how we viewers see this so differently! I see a spat between them that’s happened many times before, to be repeated, by best friends. Just beautifully simple and evocative!
Thank you so much. Your interpretation is a very good one. Yes, best friends or sisters. Thank you!
I see the figure on the left, being the girls shadow.
Love the simplicity of this one. How the water marks fell and absorbed perfectly in the perfect spots.
You’re so talented, Elena.
Thanks so much Crystal:)
This painting does send my mind back into memories of childhood, on the play ground or just being outside with old friends. Very kind memories.
I’m very glad. Thanks for saying Allyson Marie:)
Love the expression on the girl in the foreground’s face. Lovely watercolour!
Thank you Richard!
It’s strange…the first thing I thought of when I saw this (before reading your description) is that from sitting down, feeling forlorn, back against the world…she stands up and walks forwards, with resolve 🙂
