Our backyard cherry tree is a fruit eating bird delight site. Though the tree is full of cherries, the birds are fighting over the choicest, deepest red ones.
Even the least successful still seem content to snatch up the nearly ripe fruit.
We had a cherry tree in my parents garden. Never got a single cherry from it thx to the birds. My dad tried everything including a fake hosepipe in the branches to represent a snake. The birds mocked that one…
A super group of images. I particularly like the backdrop in the first picture – there is such a freshness about the various greens and together they create a wonderful texture.
This reminds me – I need to net my blueberries!! Great shots of the cheekies! 🙂
Get those berries! Thank you Cath!
We had cherry trees growing up and I so loved watching the birds! Thanks for bringing up a wonderful memory!
My pleasure!
Nice shots Elena!

Interesting idea, the hose snake. Nope, we’ve never harvested a cherry either. But it’s fun to watch the birds feast:) Thanks Tom
It’s always a great pleasure to watch birds and these are wonderdul photos 🙂
Thanks so much:)
One never plants a fruiting cherry for eating cherries. I thought they were ONLY planted to make all birds happy and fat! 😉
So true Linda:)
Wonderful scenes – all beautiful compositions. You frame the image so well.
Much appreciated. Thanks Kimberly:)
Oh, what a feast …for the eyes too! 🙂 xx
Thank you Marina!:)
We used to have an amalanchia that for one day a year, the birds went nuts over – like your shots, it was like some kind of eating festival going on.
Yes! When the birds are through there’s nothing left:)
Elena, you must have had so much fun taking these great shots!
I certainly did:)
Beautiful shots! 🙂
Thank yo Patsy!
You’re welcome, Elena! 🙂

Right after the rain. Thanks very much Louis.
What do they do with the pits? Swallow them or spit them out? Inquiring minds want to know.
I see most of the birds just swallow the whole cherry down. Smaller birds just peck at them.
Bonanza! 🙂
You said it Jet!:)
Bird watchin this yr has been lovlier than ever.
Yes, lots of birds-life affirming.
Oh that’s so cool. The beauty of spring time. It’s the little things.
It is:) Thank you.
Great catch – who wouldn’t love a good cherry? Used to pick them as a summer job when I was a child, oh so many years ago.
No kidding? I wish I could pick only a few, but the birds pretty much take over:)
