Oil, cold wax on canvas 32″x48″

Newest in the  “Blood and Vapor” Series:Who lingers within you?   Have you ever felt an ancestral presence?  The inescapable tie of family:hundreds of individuals, yesterday and today, here and gone.  A powerful resonance or inconspicuous vapor?

All of us; humbled and glorious, simply human.

  1. Well, well…we must both be enjoying visitations from our ancestors; I just made up a post that will come on my blog shortly on the selfsame topic. Terrific piece, Elena! 🙂

  2. So much emotions and depth in this excellent work…When external facts of the world are too overwhelming,it’s not so easy to endure. The inescapable ties are what I hold on to.It has a haunting impression on me.Amazingly done 🙂

  3. To a large extent, from the time of our birth, we are a strange mixture of other people’s dreams, memories and feelings. Each one is a link of one chain that seems has neither beginning nor end, which keep us our prisoners of a past that, strangely enough, we have never lived.

  4. Shrinking and melting time form and memories .. the young woman … I love the faraway look in her eyes Elena .

  5. Amazing painting Elena! We are all the sum of our ancestry. Wouldn’t it be great if we could truly get in touch with it all. Perhaps we can and just don’t know how.. 🙂

  6. Wonderful work Elena – love how fluid the piece is. How close my ancestors are all depends on what’s going on in my life. Very cool painting.
