Acrylic and oil on canvas 18″x24″
For this piece, I followed the same procedure as “Active Resolve” . I’m finding it a satisfying process, at least for the moment;)

I scrolled back a bit through your posts and discovered this elusive portrait, I love it! Great work, Elena!
Thanks so much, Petra!
This really nice! I going to look pack at you earlier post I hope you don’t mind 🙂
Not at all. Thanks:)
Okay good and welcome 🙂
She is my favourite! I often come to admire her!
Thank you!:)
I love it! Thanks!
Thank you!
Struggling to load the comments boxes here, but wow! These latest ones are just incredible Elena, somehow you’ve really captured a feeling of this new generation..I may be wrong, but these figures seem very much of today, the whole feeling from them, the tones, even. This one particularly I find incredibly powerful..keep on I say, you’re really into something here!
Thanks so much, Cath. So pleased you like her:) Very best to you!
Amazing portrait! Amazing work! Chromatics also exceptional! Congratulations, Elena, work and your talent!
I really like the picture! Thank you for sharing!
All the best to you! ❤ 🙂
Many thanks, Stefania! Enjoy your day!:)
WOW… amazing… amazzzzziiiiinggg…. I wish I could paint something like this.. too good…
Thanks so much:)
I say: I like the tension between the “controlled part and less controlled background” . It attracts the viewer to watch and to observe this work for long time….
difficult to find, catch, or achieve such moment and to capture this particular gesture… but you did it … elusive? For others, not for you! . I like the title as well. 🙂
Such a lovely comment. Thank you:)
Wunderschönes Bild liebe Grüße Gislinde
Thank you!
It’s gorgeous, Elena!
Thank you, Tiny!
Love this piece and how you have created it…she’s alive… ❤ xX
Many thanks, Jane:)
As always, splendid. I love the additional mystery and layering, the rich and deeply painterly in-process marvel of the background contrasting with and supporting and highlighting the graceful, lively brushwork of this beauty. Love it.
xo,
K
Thank you, Kathryn!
My eyes move from her eyes to her expression,to her hand, then to the background.Very beautiful geometry and rhythm. So haunting…She seems to never linger in the past and lives in the moment, not thinking about tomorrow.Actually whatever I say, only words maybe means nothing because I’m no expert or something.I cannot analyze it,I have no skill like that, but it is great work as always 🙂
I thank you for your wonderful observations. And as always, I appreciate your support:)
great look and eyes 🙂
Thanks, Joshi:)
Another amazing portrait. She seems a bit wary, maybe dangerous! The facial features are brilliant. I see her in a kind of forest dreamscape.
Thanks so much, Cindy. I like all your notions about this painting!
wow! your brush(es) can really talk!
Thanks for listening!;)
nice
Thanks
She is gorgeous!
Thank you!
I instantly fell in love with this Elena – the background feels on first glance like it shouldn’t really work, but it so does! It’s beautiful and evocative.
Thanks so very much, Steven.
Wow!!! This is awesome Elena! So impressive, so alive!
Very much appreciated!
Lovely and speaks well to your creative brush. Beautiful Elena!
Thanks ever so much, Mary!
This approach produces such rich images – visually and emotionally. Really great.
Many thanks, Richard.
Love the juxtapositioning of contrasting textures
Thanks very much, Louis.
Oh the colors…the structure of her face…her pose…her attitude…LOVE!! One of my TOP favorites!
So glad to know! Thanks ever so much, Robin!
The balance between the hyper real face and abstract background that she emerges from is arresting. What a strong face!
She’s a great model. More to come with her. Thanks very much, Anna!
A beautiful piece. With a lot of strength.
Thank you, Cheryle!
I love her challenging attitude emerging from an abstract world Elena !
I enjoy the attitude too:) Thank you, Poppy!
Prefect!!!
Thanks so much!
Awesome!!
Thanks, Adrian!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
I love the way the almost super-realist face emerges from the abstract background. Also the dramatic use of shadows on the face.
Thanks very much, Marie.
She is almost three dimensional against the abstract background. It is a wonderful play between the realism and the abstract. Amazing work!
Many thanks, Karen!
I’ve been missing out (been a lazy blogger lately). She really jumps off the page. I see a forest of birch trees in the background 🙂 Beautiful effect.
I’ve seen them as well:) Glad you’re back, James. Thank you:)
Liking the texture effect!
Thanks, Jeff!
Una bellissima….
Thank you, Susan:)
Amazingly done…such talent 🙂
Thanks ever so much:)
Gorgeous
Thank you, Carol:)
I like the structure. Other than her very realistic face and a hand, it is just an
abstract space though, it created a strong atmosphere, her stubborn world.
Impressive painting, —– but pretty strong to me.
Many thanks, Yoshi.
Wow Elena, blazing a trail with this one! Fantastic!
Much appreciated, Patti!
Fantastic detail!
Thank you, Christy!
This is fabulous….I love the light and that incredible expression.
Many thanks, Donna:)
There’s something mystical in the atmosphere of this painting [background and her expression] which draws me in. Beautiful, Elena. 🙂
I’m pleased that you think so, Marina. Thanks so much:)
very impressive!
Thanks very much!
Absolutely stunning! Standing ovation with loud clapping. (:- D
Thanks, KC!
Gorgeous, Elena. Gorgeous model, too. Can you paint those lips on me? I’m curious; how do you combine the acrylic and oil paint? Is the underpainting acrylic with oils on top?
I know! Isn’t she lovely? The acrylic comes first, then oil. The other way round would be disastrous, but it’s perfectly safe to work oil over water soluble.
I really love it with the abstract background and the clear features of the woman coming out of the unclear and colourful surroundings.
Thanks very much, especially since you are the master of such things!
Awesome, like always.
Thanks very much, Isabel.
Haunting
Thanks, Derrick.
Bellla! Bello! Molto.
Many thanks!
