A Passive Upbraiding
Love that ‘War’—as if I could see the tugs, feel the exuberance, even hear the laughter!
(PS: It’s been a while, I hope you’re doing just fine)
Many thanks for your kind comments. I’m fine, working when I can, and helping with family emergencies. Thanks for asking:)
Oh Elena, I don´t know why your blog keeps disappearing from my Reader… Nice to see your new work and evolution. The red scarf captivates with its gaze and the upper one reminds me the whites used in Sorolla´s beautiful beach paintings. Great!
Many thanks, Palmira!
Beautiful paintings, Elena. I like the stories they might tell… 🙂
Thank you, Petra!:)
Beautiful blog 😉
Thank you very much, Sabrina. I enjoyed your blog as well.
Your paintings are exceptionally great. Lots of emotions and beauty. 🙂
Beautiful and intense – great work, Elena!
Thanks so much, Anette!
Wünsche dir einen wunderschönen Mittwoch Grüße und Umarmung Gislinde
Thank you! To you as well.
Oh so gorgeous!
Those ‘earth angels’ are glorious, Elena. Both diminutives full of tension and passion.
The “earth angels” will love your comment! I do as well:) Thank you, Karen.
These are so wonderful, Elena! Love the tension in both. The moment caught before something changes everything.
Yes! Thanks so much for feeling it:)
Thanks so much:)
Elena, I love the sense of action depicted in the first one. And the portrait is unique in it’s composition. Beautiful pieces, both.
Many thanks, Uday.
It is lovely to behold the playfulness and trust of sisters with each other, just the right amount of tension in the scene. And the littlest one in the middle!
The little one is a pip! It was so much fun shooting these real life sisters for this reference. Thanks so much, Susan:)
You’ve captured the girls’ movement and the combination of strength and delicacy. The portrait is lovely, too. The sideways glance is arresting–perhaps she has a secret?
Perhaps she has…thanks ever so much:)
There is such a wonderful playfulness in both paintings, in one quite literally and in the other more in the facial expression. Both are lovely paintings.
Many thanks, Otto.
I like so much the girls. this is so dynamic!
Thank you, Daisy!
I like the rhythm, movement and tension in the first image – with a hint of Degas thrown in for good measure!
I’ll take it! Any and all references to the master, however slight are welcome!:) Thank you, Louis.
These are both wonderful Elena! Love the movement in the first one…your art is just amazing!
Thank you, Robin! I’ve just been to your excellent blog, and I have to tell you, I have a hard time just keeping up with your fabulous posts, never mind the energy it takes you to make them happen! YOU are amazing!
The top one – three girls have a half-serious tug o’ war over a confirmation dress – brilliant movement in what could be an Edvard Munch setting. The bottom one reminds me of Whistler’s portraits of ‘le petit cardinal’ – in fact there is a touch of Whistler about your work, mainly about your use of shadow. Just a touch.
Even your comments are poetic. Thanks ever so much:)
You sure make magic and that makes me so happy! Truly beautiful work ~
Thanks so much, Susan!
These are fabulous…I love the action and the mystery!
Many thanks, Donna!
Magical. You are so talented! 🙂
You are very kind:) Thank you!
Thank you, Adrian!
One so playful, the other so moody and intense, both so beautiful!
Many thanks, Patti!
Carol Baldwin (above) said what I wanted to say: You are amazing!
You are so kind. Thank you!
piękne obrazy !
I love the movement of the ‘Sisters’, Elena and the stories the eyes of the girl in a red scarf speak… Beautiful, my dear friend. 🙂
Thanks so very much, Marina:)
Both paintings are beautiful – love the movement and light in the first one. Love the dramatic eyes in the second painting.
Many thanks, MaryJane:)
I didn’t forget about the painting I
wanted to have done by you.most likely within the next 2 months.
Love the light and movement in Tug of War
