Oil on Linen 11″ x 14″

This week I will be posting work realized during my long blogging hiatus.  This is the first of several portraits of red heads.  I love colors found in the skin tones and hair highlights of red heads.

  1. Gorgeous! just gorgeous. ~Rita

  2. Your hiatus was worth the wait, for me. I see my mother here, as she was some time ago. Thank you!

  3. I’ve been coming back to this again and again. Everything about it is , well, perfect! 🙂

  4. Deeply engrossed in thought.
Her eyes seem to gaze into the far horizon as if she were lost in the mists of time.

  5. So interesting… are you related to her?

  6. Opere realistiche. Approfitto per ringraziarti dei tuoi lire per iniziare articoli

  7. In the past I have often commented on the life and expression you convey in your sitter’s eyes. Now you have drawn my attention to the hair – so many shades, tones and textures.

Good work , Elena! I was thinking you lost all of your brushes or your paint dried out 😉 Good to see you back!

  9. Excellent stuff!

  10. Another masterpiece from a magic palette.
I look at it and have so much say but i feel shy and tongue tied
I have been following your Blog for a long time under different blog names
depending on the topics of my bloggings at the time,
admiring, observing and storing information in my brain
analysing for hours later and dreaming to try someday.
It is too late for me to aspire to a level of real art
and my only hope lies in the possibility of next life
if there is …reincarnation! 🙂 but i have finally plucked the courage
and my humble colouring pencils and to do a bit of play
and trying to use some of the tricks when possible and applicable
with my poor learning skills and limiting medium.
Delighted to hear you will be posting more soon

    • Oh, my Gosh. Thank you for your kind words, but I do the same and wish the same when I see work by my favorite artists. We all keep working and learning. BTW, I tried to post a comment on your blog recently but WP wouldn’t let me. For me, colored pencils are the toughest medium to tackle. Kudos to you. I need a medium where I can change my mind:)
