This lovely box turtle newly emerged from hibernation, crawled away from his winter home, still sleepy.
A tiny painted turtle having a look around.
A frog just up from the mud.
Lots of mating activity.
A snack after mating.
One of the resident nesting pair of geese, enjoying a little time away from nest sitting duties.
This powerful sparrow hawk is on the look out for prey in my yard. He stalks with such predatory mastery, that he sends chills up my spine.
Still life with geese and turtle;)

A comical, fast-moving little nuthatch steals the show.
New Year’s Day was a very good day for photographing swamp ice. I have prepared no less than six series of different takes on the ice of The Great Swamp, Basking Ridge New Jersey.
I hope you will enjoy the series as much as I enjoyed the day.
This first set is entitled Enveloped.
