Last watercolor of “Watercolor Week”. I’ve had fun! Thanks for the “likes” and for your terrific comments!
Awkward moments, gesture poses.
So much creep factor slipped into this little painting that it stopped me in my tracks. Creepily weird, but I kinda like it:)
This week I’m breaking the form. For the next seven days I’ll be posting watercolor sketches while I continue to work on new projects. Not to worry about commenting on each post. I love hearing from you, but I don’t wish to make a pest of myself. Hope you find one of the seven […]
A super quick nod to Watercolor Wed. while I work on lots of new paintings!
I’m growing quite fond of these two. They happened upon the paper very quickly and easily. The ease of their creation is in great contrast with the energy of the little girl in the foreground. I seem to recall sometimes feeling like each of these girls, while in the company of childhood friends. Either gratefully […]
Celebration at my house! Our furry family has been through a crisis, but everybody just got a clean bill of health! We couldn’t be happier.
A pause within a move…spontaneous figure sketches:
Quick portrait sketch.
Yes, you see a little white watercolor. Couldn’t help myself;)
* High drama in my neighborhood. Lonely cicadas, waiting patiently in the ground for seventeen years are now above ground transforming, dating and dying. HERE * is a link to a beautiful video, for those who are interested in the life cycle of the cicada. Above is a quick watercolor sketch of the amazing dance […]
Bold and heavy here-experimenting with darks. I think I prefer lighter, with outrageous color. Perhaps I’ll try the same subject with lots of color for next week…
I’m just an amateur photographer, so sometimes great opportunities for marvelous shots are lost due to my inexperience. This was the case recently when a spectacular heron modeled for me, but all my shots alas, came out blurry. A photo disappointment for sure, but grist for some watercolor sketches. Step 1 and 2 below.
Yes, it’s spring but there’s still a chill in the air.
A sweet goose couple is nesting in the same spot again this year, center stage, in The Great Swamp. Literally, a less than five minute sketch from beginning (below) to end (above). An effort to capture a bit of her grace.
A very quick painting this week. I’m working on new images/ collaborations. Can’t wait to show you:)
Orange socks-watercolor sketch. In the interest of better perspective, I should have blurred or lifted the color from the hard line on the bottom of the coat, behind her feet. It’s something I’ll remember next time.
